§ 2-122. Use of city-owned vehicles.

  • (a)

    No person, except employees, city officials and persons authorized by the mayor and council, shall operate any vehicle, owned, leased or possessed by the city.

    (b)

    No person who is not an employee, city official or person authorized by the mayor or council shall occupy any vehicle owned, leased or possessed by the city or ride in or upon the same, except in the case of an emergency, in which case the driver of the vehicle shall be authorized to accept assistance from any person or persons as he deems necessary for such emergency.

    (c)

    Any employee of the city who violates any provision of this section shall be subject to discharge from his employment by reason of such violation.

    (d)

    Any employee of the city who permits any other person to violate the provisions of this section shall likewise be subject to discharge by reason of such violation.
