§ 2.31. Regular and special meetings.

  • (a)

    The city council shall hold regular meetings at such times and places as prescribed by ordinance. The city council may recess any regular meeting and continue such meeting on any weekday or hour the council may fix. The council may transact any business at such continued meeting as may be transacted at any regular meeting.

    (b)

    Special meetings of the city council may be held on call of the mayor or shall be held when requested in writing by a majority of the members of the city council and, except in case of emergency, upon no less than 24 hours' notice to each member. Notice of any special meeting may be waived in writing and attendance at the meeting shall be a waiver of notice of any special meeting.

    (c)

    All meetings of the city council shall be held and conducted in conformity with the requirements of the Act providing for open meetings of public agencies, approved March 28, 1972 and subsequently amended (O.C.G.A. § 50-14-1 et seq.).
